4th of July

Last years 4th of July was perfect in every way! So I was nervous for this year because how could it possibly compare?!!
We kept up with our old traditions and created some new ones. We started the day by walking down to the corner market and bought a few fireworks and donuts. We played and swam with the Walkers. Took a quick nap  and then headed over to another friends house for more water fun, BBQ, and fireworks. We all pitched in and got a giant 70ft water obstacle course. The evening was gorgeous!!! The sunset was beautiful!! And just as we lit the first few fireworks there was a bright flash of light and a huge clap of thunder, and it began to pour down rain. We all ran for shelter and huddle under the pavilion. It rained buckets for probably 45 mins. It was so fun. Like something from a movie. It cleared up, and dried out quickly.
We cleaned up and headed over to our neighborhood to watch some more friends light up some illegals they picked up in pahrump. We enjoyed those for a few minutes until a set of them fell over, exploded and shot off straight in between the kids, and hit a house and went Kaboom!!!!! It echoed through the neighborhood, It scared the shorts off of us! Ryan stomped out a few burning bushes :(. My gads we were sooo lucky it didn't hit one of the kids. It's making me sick thinking about it!! After that we headed home. We lit our small little fireworks off while sitting a safe distance away. And called it a night. It was an adventurous night.
I had never seen so many illegal fireworks going off. Everywhere you'd look there was illegals. It was as if everyone went to pahrump to get fireworks!!! We won't be playing with those ever again.
