Halloweenie

We got our decorations up right at the beginning of the month. Connor loooooves Halloween so we spent a lot of time in the Halloween section of EVERY single store we went to. I came up with a few cheap and easy crafts to add to our small collection of decorations. In a few years we should have a pretty good collection. Our most favorite thing to during the holidays is drive through the neighborhood and look at everyone's decorations with hot chocolate. Sadie and Benny totally got into it this year!!! Sadie would say, "(gasp) WOOK, Halloween stuff!" And by the end of October Benson was saying wook (look), too.

This year Connor decided pretty early on a costume, which was nice since prior years he could not decide until a few days before (or the day off). He loves Mario Kart, and so it was fitting to be Mario. Sadie loves, loves all thing girlie! She is petite and sassy. So is Tinker Bell. So naturally Sadie had to be Tinker Bell!! We used the same costume Alyssa wore, and my mom brought the accessories. Those shoes! For Benson I figured we would just recycle one of Connor's old costumes, and the dalmatian was closest to his size. Benson hated it. It was a fight to put it on him and he cried and cried for the 10 minutes he wore it, almost as if he was embarrassed to be forced to wear it. I didn't make him wear it, so he was nothing. He did, however, wear his Halloween sockies Denise bought him :). Benny is a funny kid.

We went to the ward trunk or treat the weekend before Halloween. Ryan even dressed up; in Connor's batman costume. Connor and Sadie loved it. Benny hung out with me while I handed candy out. Halloween came and Ryan had to work late :(. So me and the kids carved pumpkins alone. I think we've carved pumpkins alone for the last 3 years. He made it home in time to trick or treat though. We went with the Baileys, and joined up with several other families throughout the night. The kids did awesome (but benny had a mind of his own), we walked and walked. They were pooped, and so were we. Sadie is a candy nut! But she is so particular about what she likes. She won't eat chocolate, or chewy candies. She likes suckers, smarties, skittles and sweet tarts. Connor likes his candy but doesn't ask about it much. Which will be nice when the candy magically disappears (trash), he won't even realize it's gone. We had a fun year. Every year it gets funner and hopefully a little easier.
