Underwater

This year's monsoon season has been pretty good! Monsoon season typically starts in July and goes through August.The night before school started we had some crazy monsoon rain! It started pouring just after we got home from church. And it rained buckets for at least an hour or two. We knew there'd be flooding but didn't realize how much until our home teacher called and said he couldn't get to Our house. Glad it didn't rain during church or half our ward would have been flooded out for the night.

My most favorite thing as a kid was to drive around and see all the flooding. So after running around and dancing in the rain with the kids we changed our clothes and hopped in the car to explore. We didn't make it far, 2 of the three neighborhood gates were underwater. It was crazy to see how fast Las Vegas can go under water. We don't have the typical gutter system here since we get very little rain. They have what is called washes, so water will run on the streets until in can get to a wash. The soil here also doesn't absorb much moisture.
