peanut allergy?

we finally fed connor peanut butter. the pediatric recommendation is to wait until a child is 18 months, we waited until connor was 21 months hoping the extra few months would make a difference. we gave him apples with a little peanut butter on them. he had maybe a tsp, and within minutes he had red bumps all around his mouth. the bumps had gone down quite a bit by the time i took these pictures. so i think it's a firm possibility he may be allergic to peanuts. now we will go in and have him tested. :( i am so sad.

That is seriously not cool. We would die at our house if we couldn't have PB.

how sad! poor little baby boy! i freak out over allergies, which will probably be the death of me, but isaac finally had some nuts this month and he turns 2 next week. he won't, however, eat peanut butter. he'll eat it in the form of those pre-made peanut butter and cheese crackers, but not on bread or toast or anything...

good luck with the testing. did he get any on his fingers or anything? i'll be curious to know what the outcome is.

That is a bummer! That is what Dallin's face looked like. Until you get hime tested make sure you check labels on everything, including ice cream, one of the mint chip ice creams has peanut oil in it.

Hayley had that problem too, but by the time she was 3 she grew out of it because it was just mild. Hopefully it isn't too bad! We love pb here. It is almost a daily occurance!

are you guys allergic to peanuts?

Hopefully it's just a reaction to something new. From what I've heard, a lot of little kids react that way the first few times to PB.

Oh no! I hope he will grow out of it. We would die without peanut butter sandwiches! :) Keep us posted on everything...allergies scare me.

PS. I think he looks so much like Ryan in these pictures!
